The community offers 88 boat slips and there is a number of Marina’s located close-by to provide you with all of your boating necessities such as fishing rods, fuel and bait. From your dock at the Marina of Peppers Creek you can easily access Sussex County’s best fishing at the Indian River Inlet which is only 7 nautical miles away. There you will find a variety of fish including flounder, trout and bass. For those who prefer a relaxing boat ride to fishing, the calm waters of the Inland Bays is the perfect spot for that peaceful boat ride.
Within 20 minutes of the Communities of Pepper’s Creek are two of the areas most coveted natural treasures: Holt’s Landing State Park and Assawoman State Wildlife Area. Holt’s Landing is located less than fifteen minutes from the town of historic Dagsboro. The crabbing and fishing pier provides a scenic view of the inland bays. The park also has a grand pavilion with picnic tables, and a play ground for children. Walking and biking trails are also close by. This is a great spot to spend the day with your family.
Assawoman State Wildlife Area offers abundant recreational opportunities to locals for nature walking and observing native birds such as Blue Herons, Ospreys, and Bald Eagles. The preserve was created from 9 farms, and has been a wildlife area since 1943. Entry to the State Wildlife Area is free, and its primary goal is habitat conservation. The state wildlife area is located less than 5 minutes from Dagsboro and is accessible by car or bicycle.
